Title: THE ONE: A Woman’s Search for Eternal Love Why I wrote my book: I realized my own struggles in singleness and spoke at length to a group of single women that shared some of these same concerns. Their thoughts are shared throughout the book. Though there are other books that address singleness, THE ONE will come from the perspective of a single woman that can relate to where singles are in life and the pressures of media, church, and society that are rarely discussed. Unlike the emphasis of everyday society, THE ONE takes the emphasis off of the pursuit of “the one” and more on the pursuit of “THE ONE”. We often don’t realize how our priorities have been shaped by popular media, television, internet, and other mediums that focus our attention on pursuing the opposite sex, leaving single women feeling rejected, alone, and unworthy if they are not involved in a romantic relationship. This is the very opposite of God’s will for our lives, which promises a hope and a future. About me and my book: I wear many hats as an author, professor, speaker, and founder of Pala Communication. My first book, Changing Lanes: A New Adult’s Guide to Understanding Your Lane in Life was completed in 2005. My latest book, THE ONE was released early 2009. THE ONE is an easy sell and an easy read. Immediately the title grabs the reader’s attention and the fictional characters that are easy to relate to will keep readers’ interest throughout the book. Real-life scenarios and opinions of single and married women in ministry, media, and the business world are included to give voice to the real issues and concerns these women face, something that is not always addressed in other books on singleness. I truly believe this book will have a positive impact on the lives of single women. Readers will learn how to better focus on seeking THE ONE in every area of their lives, including relationships, finances, and goal-setting. Nothing can stop His promise to you, so don’t get discouraged, be encouraged that everything is working for your good when you are called according to His purpose.
