The ever-changing face of online content

It’s hard to make sure you’re on target with your online content. The internet can feel incredibly free-form; you can say anything! Remember, for readers to come back, they have to “get” the value of your online content quickly. For that to be possible, you need to be on target. And that means you need to define your target. What’s your blog / website all about? You need to know. If content doesn’t fit the target, maybe it’s better off in your facebook or twitter feeds. But you have to be making those decisions; otherwise, your readers won’t know what to expect and they won’t come back.
Questions to ask as you develop your online content “target”:
  • What thing (or things) do I want to make core to my online presence?
  • What do my readers respond best to?
  • Does my list reflect my personality or is it genuinely random?
