Christian Library International distributes donated Christian books to US prisons
August 5th, 2009 by Nick CiskeThe mission of Christian Library International (CLI) is to bring Christ to the imprisoned. Since its founding in 1996, CLI has helped thousands of incarcerated men and women find new hope in the healing powers of Christ. With a small Christian staff and a team of devoted volunteers, CLI maintains a low overhead, ensuring that the bulk of our resources go directly to the prisons we support. Our success depends on the prayers and generosity of individual donors as well as local churches, foundations and Christian publishers.
The Bible you sent and my starting studies have born unexpected fruit. Some inmates have asked me to organize a Bible Study group. If you have any suggestions for group study I would welcome your input. Yours in Christ, Inmate George, Canton, GA

Truly, at the day of judgment we shall not be examined by what we have read, but what we have done; not how well we have spoken, but how religiously we have lived.

I have written a four volume manuscript entitled, “Lessons of a Lifetime – For Leaders and Leaders in Training.” This book has been written with the prison population in mind. It is my aim and goal to do what I can to distribute these books free of charge beginning with as many Virginia prisons as possible. This book is a daily devotional based on the chronological life of Jesus. I noticed your efforts to freely donate Christian books to prisons. Can you be of any help in my search to locate a publishing company that may be of assistance? All four volumes have been written, and I am presently editing the last two volumes. Thanks for your consideration.

You’ll be hard pressed to find a publisher who wants to give books away, in any economy, especially this one.
Your best bet would be to seek out donations, self publish the book, and do a large print run (to keep the cost per book down).
You could then donate them to prisons or organizations that provide books to prisons.
We can help you with the publishing and printing part, but you’d have the raise the funds for the project.
