Print-on-Demand

Print-on-Demand is print and distribution solution that enables authors to have their books printed and shipped as individual orders are made. Your book will be made available through Anchor Distributors to major sales channels like Amazon.com and Christian retailers.

How It Works

You provide us with your press files and eBook files. If you need file conversion, we’ll help with that, too! We’ll get them into Anchor Distributor’s system. From there, data will flow to Amazon, Ingram, and Christian Retailers to make your book available worldwide. eBook files will go into sales channels as well. As eBooks are sold, the customers will download the files. In the POD program, as a store or individual places an order for a print copy, Bethany Press will print a copy of your book on-demand, and Anchor will ship it out. It’s that simple.

As your orders increase, we’ll let you know. You’ll have the ability to switch to Print-to-Replenish when you decide that it makes sense for your title. We’ll ensure constant availability so that your customers get their books, no matter which way they’re produced.

We’ll also setup a free author blog / eStore with you. That eStore will sell your books at the lowest discount possible so that you make the most profit.

Payment (eBook & POD)

For eBook sales, you’ll receive 90% of the net sale received by the distributor. Most eBook retailers take a 30% discount. We’ve done the math for you below.

For POD sales, you’ll receive a percentage of the net sale after the cost of printing. Instead of pricing your book out of the market, we’ve established the price point at which you can begin to make a profit. For each dollar that you add to the retail price, you’ll receive another 5% of the the net sale after the cost of printing. The chart below shows the amount paid to the author at the retail price floor for each page count.

Payment (P2R)

When you move over to the Print-to-Replenish model, your book is treated like a standard distribution item. That means it’s sold at standard discounts, and the net sale is split with 65% going to you and 35% going to the distributor.

Process

You can start today by enrolling your book in our Print-on-Demand program (below) or you can request a consultation with our staff.

Once you purchase the service, we’ll gather the details and files we need from you and get them into the POD system. We’ll start setting up your eStore as well.

Note, while we’ll get your title’s data into the sales channels as rapidly as possible, each sales channel operates on its own timeline and process. Full availability through all channels can take 60 days or more. But, we’ll have your eStore up and running rapidly.

After the first year, you’ll be billed $35 annually to keep your title active.
